Variation in morphological and wood cell traits in coppice stems of Populus nigra L. and Salix alba L.

چکیده
Coppice management is an ecologically important silvicultural practice to provide the quicker and higher potential of wood biomass production for industrial demands. Understanding morphological anatomical responses coppiced trees could help determine quantity quality thus better tree plantations short-time production. However, there a little investigation in adaptation different fast-growing species. The present study, therefore, studied how morphology anatomy vary between two coppices Populus nigra L. (black poplar) Salix alba (white willow). Each was grown similar habitat at age. each showed plasticity their stems response environmental factors. Poplar properties due greater vessel diameter, fibre length, width, wall thickness, ray height; however willow had which average stem height ring width. results suggest that growth even 2 years age than poplar coppices.

abstract in written mode of language, metadiscourse markers are used commonly to help writers in general and academic writers in particular to produce coherent and professional texts. the purpose of the present study was to compare introduction sections of applied linguistics and physics articles regarding their use of interactive and interactional metadiscourse markers based on the model pro...
15 صفحه اولIntraspecific variation of physiological and molecular response to cadmium stress in Populus nigra L.
Little is known about the variability of response to heavy metal stress within tree species, although it could be a key for a better understanding of tolerance mechanisms and for breeding. The aim of the present study was to characterize the natural variation of response to cadmium (Cd) in Populus nigra L. in order to understand the mechanisms of Cd tolerance. For that, two P. nigra genotypes, ...
متن کاملGenetic and morphological differentiation in Populus nigra L.: isolation by colonization or isolation by adaptation?
Identifying processes underlying the genetic and morphological differences among populations is a central question of evolutionary biology. Forest trees typically contain high levels of neutral genetic variation, and genetic differences are often correlated with geographic distance between populations [isolation by distance (IBD)] or are due to historic vicariance events [isolation by colonizat...
متن کاملMorphological study of the leaves of two European black poplar (Populus nigra L.) populations in Slovenia
Background and Purpose: Conservation efforts across Europe and a substantial lack of information regarding the present status of black poplar (Populus nigra L.) in Slovenia led us to conduct this research. The objectives were to determine the presence of preserved native black poplar in Slovenia, to evaluate the variation within and between two selected populations, and to evaluate the conditio...
متن کاملLeaf Morphology Variation of Populus nigra L. in Natural Populations along the Rivers in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina
Background and Purpose: The aim was to determine the morphological differences between the hairy type of European black poplar (Populus nigra subsp. caudina) and the typical type from the riparian forests populations as well as between the river systems. Hairy black poplar spreads in a mosaic pattern across the Submediterranean climatic type along the River Neretva and the typical European blac...
